Two convention updates before I hop the train to the New York Comic Con tomorrow morning.
The first concerns NYCC itself. Originally, Saturday’s Image Comics panel, which I’m supposed to be on, was scheduled for 12:15-1:15 p.m. in Room 1A22. But for some reason the con moved the panel to a 1:15-2:15 p.m. time slot, which directly conflicts with the Top Cow panel in Room 1A06. I don’t have an explanation as to why. So I’ll be trying to make about half of each panel, dashing from one room to the other about halfway through. Sounds like fun.
The other announcement concerns my trip to Melbourne, Australia and Auckand, New Zealand the latter half of October. Unfortunately, I’ve had to pull out of the trip due to work commitments. Here’s my statement that went up at the Armageddon Expo website:
“It’s with much regret that I have to announce I won’t be joining fans at Armageddon Expo’s Melbourne and Auckland events this month. I want to extend my sincerest apologies at having to cancel. An unforeseen confluence of deadlines forced me to choose between my work commitments and the convention appearances. Unfortunately, the work has to come first, so in the interest of getting a number of my books to press on time, I won’t be able to attend the shows. I was looking forward to visiting Australia and New Zealand more than I can say, and I’m far more disappointed than anyone at this turn of events. I sincerely hope I’ll have another opportunity to make the trip in the future, so I can meet everyone I’m missing this time around. Again, please accept my apologies.”
So … that sucks. Very sorry to miss the shows. But getting the books out is paramount. Sigh.

Hi Ron,
Very disappointed that you aren’t coming to Australia, especially as I had already booked my flights to Melbourne! I do hope you can find the time in the future to come to Australia as I’m a big Kyle Rayner fan and meeting his “creator” would be great!

WOW-i have been pushing for ages for you to come here…and although u cannot make it this time,i know there is an Armageddon con and Supanova con in Sydney early to middle next yr!!
I hope the organisers of those events can get you here for those…otherwise…bring on Artifacts and Witchblade my friend-in the end the story is more important!!!!!Keep up the good work!
